BREAKING: South Korea attacked by North Korea

(Reuters) - North Korea on Tuesday fired dozens of artillery shells at a South Korean island, setting buildings on fire and prompting a return of fire by the South, Seoul’s military and media reports said.

I might have invested slightly more interest into the relationship between these two countries, but it’s something that everyone here should be at least cognizant of. There was a similar attack earlier this year on some South Korean submarines, but this leaves me with slightly more anxiety than that did. 

Good bye, exchange rate. I thought that you were growing up to be good and healthy. You looked like you were recovering so well from your terrible fall earlier this year. TOO BAD THE CANCER KEEPS COMING BACK. 

SO…Im at work, and I see this (not this exact picture) pop up on CNN. All of my coworkers look at me….I’m the only Korean that works in this office. DAMMIT, Crazy ass Dictator of North Korea that looks better as a puppet (In the movie: Team America) I am supposed to go to Korea in March to get a job!!!!!!! Don’t ruin my plans!!!

Naw, don’t worry about it. The thing about the Koreas is that they don’t want to go to war. Notice that the first thing Lee Myung-Bak is doing about this is making sure it doesn’t escalate. Things like this happen all the time. My feelings about it is that if the treaty wasn’t broke the fuck open by that time North Korean soldiers hacked up some of our soldiers with an AX then you don’t really need to actively worry about it.

Besides, if you’re really worried about getting blowed up, you can sign up with the American embassy and they will helicopter you right out at the first sign of real danger. Notice the “real.” This is a big deal but far from war, and the bigger deal imo is that people died and that it’s tragic. Also that… poor now. Time to do Tefl to make-a somemore cash.

Thanks Ginny for the info! Yes, American news blows everything out of proportion! And, thanks for the Embassy info. That is one of the 1st things I’ll do when I get there! 

It’s like when we have a hurricane here in Florida, and my Korean family call my mom thinking that all of Florida has been wiped off the map! lol

I just pray that things don’t get worse anytime soon…it’s so annoying, and so annoying that Seoul is so close. I remember when I was there vacationing when I was 15. We were at my mom’s friends house and on the news they showed N. Korean and S. Korean ships shooting at each other in the Sea. I was so scared, I thought I wouldn’t be able to get back to the states!

Unfortunately, this will be going on for a long time :(

Maybe this will help plane ticket prices go down for my short trip in March!!! *crossing fingers*
